This is seriously good; the elegantly expressed bouquet shows white flesh nectarine, fig, oatmeal and white floral characters with a touch of spicy complexity. The palate is wonderfully weighted and delightfully flowing with rounded mouthfeel and silky texture, gorgeously complemented by whispering sweetness and juicy acidity.

Handled without oak, it is attractively scented, vibrantly fruity and mouth-filling, with good intensity of peach, pear, lychee and spice flavours, and an off-dry finish. A distinctive, Alsace-style wine, that veers more towards Pinot Gris than Chardonnay in style, it's still extremely youthful; best drinking 2021+

Engaging and intriguing with ripe white fleshed fruits and a little citrus spice, apple and floral notes. Off-dry on the palate - just - a contrasting acid line, fruit weight and a soft spicy accentuated throughout the palate. A beautifully balanced wine with a creamy silky texture and fruit flavours that carry the wine through a lengthy finish. Well made and ready to enjoy from today and through 2024.

The 2019 Pinot Blanc has a spicy nose akin to pinot gris but with more stonefruit than treefruit. A juicy palate, quite broad and ripe, with a clean, dry, slightly savoury finish.
Neil Hodgson, The Nelson Mail, 11 Sept 2019
The pale lemon-gold colour sparkles in the glass, and because the wine is made with very low levels of sulphur and relies on natural CO2 from the fermentation process as a preservative, it has a delightful spritz on your tongue when you first taste it.
The 6-8gms of residual fruit sugars delivers a lovely rounded texture without being heavy, and the beautifully ripe, low pH acidity balances the wine nicely.
This is an outstanding new wine for Blackenbrook, a wine packed with flavour, a wine that is textural in the mouth, a wine that has juicy acidity in the finish and a wine that is beautifully clean.
The hallmark varietal purity we have all come to expect from Blackenbrook wines shines brightly and it is anything but a bland Pinot Blanc, it is a wine with personality made in a style everyone will enjoy.
Good rainfall in spring promoted healthy canopy growth. December brought fine and dry weather, ideal conditions for a successful flowering and pollination.
From January right into harvest a heat wave and drought gripped the region. Our deep-rooting vines and the moisture-holding clay soils enabled our vineyard to thrive in these challenging conditions and produce a healthy crop with outstanding flavour concentration.
Harvest kicked off on 8 March, the earliest starting date at Blackenbrook’s ever.
