Concentrated, with great fruit purity and strong varietal characters of rose petals and Turkish Delight, this is a medium-dry style with a smooth texture and lasting finish.

The wine is built for ageing and we recommend to enjoy it between now and 2012.

The Diam Cork

The DIAM cork guarantees a 100% cork taint free closure of wine bottles. These corks also offer near perfect seals and no random cork oxidation or leaks. The cork is reduced to cork flour, before being washed with carbon dioxide removing TCA. Subsequently the flour is reconstituted and held together by the same polymer that contact lenses are made from.

Intense, syrupy wine with quince, anise, liquorice and Turkish delight flavours.
A powerful Gewurztraminer with a lingering finish in a medium/dry style.
Michael Cooper-4.5 stars Michael Cooper - The Listener
This ravishingly scented, sturdy wine was grown 500m from the coastal highway at Tasman.   It offers lovely depth of ripe peach, lychee and spice flavours, slightly sweet and soft.

Buyer's GuideThe beautifully perfumed, softly mouthfilling (14.8 per cent alcohol) 2008 vintage was harvested at 25.6 brix.  Intensely varietal, it has very ripe peach, lychee and spice flavours, showing lovely depth and delicacy, and a slightly sweet (12 grams/litre of residual sugar), well-rounded finish.

Blackenbrook is a relatively new Nelson estate that has swiftly established itself as one of the most exciting producers of Aromatics in the region.

Made by Daniel Schwarzenbach, an ex-medical chemist and microbiologist whose wine experience spans work in Europe to time as chief winemaker at Nelson's Seifried Estate, his Gewürztraminer is a soft, richly textured wine with subtle notes of the variety's Turkish delight character, as well as aniseed and Middle Eastern spice.

Sue Courtney - Wine of the Week
Blackenbrook Reserve Gewurztraminer 2008 is texturally complex and viscous. While shy on the nose and the spice is more restrained in the palate, it has great mouthfeel and weight with a honey feel to the finish.

Neil Hodgson - The Nelson Mail
One word says it all: intense!

Rich heady aromas, luscious honeyed quince and Turkish delight flavours with a splash of exotic spice in the finish.  A great example of aromatic-style wines.
