Ripely scented, this is a strapping wine with rich flavours of stonefruit, pears and spice, gentle sweetness and finely balanced acidity - distinctly Alsace-style.

Made from hand-picked grapes from Blackenbrook's Home Vineyard in Tasman.Michael Cooper - The Listener
The grapes ripened to a sugar level of 25.7 Brix, and were whole-bunch pressed and fermented
to achieve 15 per cent alcohol and residual sugar of 16 grams per litre.
The wine was not fined but was given a light filtration.
Lovely Pinot Gris in a rich, silken and slightly spicy Alsatian style.
Moderately sweet with baked apple, pear and warm brioche flavours.
Mouth-filling with a lingering finish. Very attractive.
Daniel Schwarzenbach and his wife Ursula produce one of this country’s most striking Pinot Gris.
In the classic mould of Alsace, Blackenbrook Nelson Pinot Gris is typically a powerful, high-alcohol wine, enticingly floral, with a strong surge of peach, pear and spice flavours, hints of apple strudel and honey, gentle sweetness and lovely vibrancy and richness.
Harbouring 15 per cent alcohol, it is beautifully floral, with fresh, very vibrant peach, pear and spice aromas and flavours, a hint of ginger, slight sweetness (20 grams/litre of residual sugar), and lovely purity, delicacy and richness.
Neil Hodgson - The Nelson MailBlackenbrook is a relatively new Nelson estate that has swiftly established itself as one of the most exciting producers of Aromatics in the region.
This is a five-star wine that dances on your tongue but packs a punch. Bright, fresh, pure flavours are bound up in a lush texture and touched with a dash of spice and fresh acidity in the finish. The elegance of this wine hides the 15 per cent alcohol punch. This is one of the best Pinot Gris I have tried in a long time.
