Pure, mouth-filling wine with pear and lifted spicy flavours. A hint of sweetness adds weight and helps to promote a beautifully ethereal texture. The wine carries its high alcohol level well with a pleasantly warming finish.
Highly scented, with substantial body and rich citrus fruit, lychee and spice flavours. Fleshy and faintly honeyed, with good harmony and a dryish, well-rounded finish.
The nose shows gently fragrant aromas of citrus, apple and subtle spice characters. The Nelson Mail
The palate exhibits a gentle sweetness on the front palate followed by soft texture and crisp acidity. A pleasant wine showing lovely fresh flavours
At its best: now to 2009.
This five-star wine has intense ripe pear and spicy quince flavours with a richly textured mouth-feel. The characters of this exquisite wine evolve in the mouth, with a touch of honey providing the perfect foil to the reasonably high alcohol.
