After 12 months barrel ageing, this is a fragrant wine with sweet fruit characters of pineapple and peach, a pronounced butterscotch influence and a long, rounded finish.

It is built for ageing and we recommend to enjoy it between now and 2010.

  • Single Vineyard: Home block
  • Moutere clay soil with a layer of sandy loam
  • Focus on healthy soil and strong plants
  • All vines grafted on site
  • Clones:  Mendoza, Gm 2/23, UCD 15

Excellent growing season with a hot and dry summer stretching right into autumn.

Hand-picked and hand-sorted on 1 April 2006 with 24.8 Brix

  • Whole bunch pressed
  • Cool fermentation
  • Extended lees contact
  • aged for 12 months in one- and two-year old oak barriques
  • Full malolactic fermentation

Minimal pumping
Cross-flow filtration

Bottled on 1 August 2007 under screw capsules

  • 15.0% Alcohol
